Interdisciplinary team approach to patient care The healthcare profession is one that is full of excitement, new experiences, and educational opportunities. Unfortunately, it is also full of stressful situations, strong personalities, and sometimes difficult people. That is where the proper education on the benefit of interdisciplinary working becomes important. This important aspect of our professional life can be compared to how it was when I played softball. I was a third baseman, and I depended on my teammates to work with me to win the game. I may not have always gotten along with all of my teammates, but we worked together for the goal of having a winning team. Let’s face it, we don’t always like working with certain people. Yet we do it for the sake of the patient to ensure safe and appropriate care. The vast abundance of educational teaching strategies never ceases to amaze me. Becoming an educator in the 21 st century, you have to be willing to try new strategies to introduce new ways for students to learn. After learning about such things as virtual reality, blogging, tutorials, RLO’s and more, it is incredible to think of what could have changed in my own education. Using these teaching strategies, it would encourage the active and authentic learning that is the main goal in nursing education.                           After learning about new teaching strategies, I am confident that I will use such strategies as blogging and tutorials in my future teaching strategies.                        Nursing education has come such a long way since its inception. Educators have come from teaching only doctors in a hospital setting, to teaching via the internet in virtual classrooms. Becoming a nurse educator is something that one should be proud of and use all available resources to make students better and to make them better nurses. This is relied heavily on the use of technology in that education.             I do not remember having much in the category of technology when I was in school for my Associate’s Degree.
